A Family Tradition

As one of the UK’s leading fresh fruit distributors, Koray Watermelon owes its roots to the humble and fertile lands of Southern Turkey. It was here that the Celik family has farmed a wide variety of fruits for centuries, and who’s name is well known in the region for their ethics in business practice.

It was Mustafa Celik (above), who, back in the early 70s, took the farming and distribution of fresh produce to another level opening up a growing network throughout the region. He expanded the sale of a variety of fresh fruit including grapes, pomegranates and Melons, all supplied from the family lands in the region.

Sevket Celik (Grandson) - Director of Koray Watermelon UK

Today, Sevket Celik is based in the UK and directs an extensive fruit distribution business across Europe, providing the UK market from the company storage and handling facility in Leicester, in the very heart of the UK and at the centre of the country’s transport backbone.

Far beyond the region of his family lands in Southern Turkey, Sevket overseas imports and exports of various seasonal fruits throughout Europe and prides himself on the quality and variety of his products. He is ambitions and continues to push the boundaries of the family business in the UK.
